Earth's Near Misses to The Fall-type Meteoric Disasters

The Fall, as you know, is a meteor shower which rained Northern Hemisphere in late 19th century in Stirling's Peshawar Lancers.
I don't know that this particular disaster catalogued as a near-miss in OTL, but there must be others in the past.

Could you tell me about them? All I know is the "Canterbury Event" in 12th century

Thanks in advance!

I have heard it suggested that the swastika is the result of one. Apparently the motif shows up suddenly all over the world at the same time, and the earliest depictions have curved rather than angled arms. Some have suggested this was due to a significant comet passing very near earth.
