US intell picks up details of Yakomato's tour of the Pacific.
A plan is set in Motion to Try to shoot him Down.
A flight of Lightings? [those split tail thingies] intercect him, and Yakomato is killed.
POD-- A slight problem delays Yakomato's Takeoff, The Lightings miss the conection, and Yakomato returns to Japan.
With Yakomato still in control several OTL Battles go slightly different, but the flow is the same.
1944-
Yakomato has become convinced that the plan to knock out the US Pacific Fleet, and build a defence Barrier across the south Pacific has failed.
His problem is what to do about it.
On July 17 D-Day Opens a new front in Europe, This is a Month later than OTL, so there are more Men & Equipment.
By the end of July Yakomato is receiving reports both from his German and his Ally intelligence agents.
The Allies are firmly ashore and pushing north into France.
In the Pacific, Japan is slowly giving Ground, Yakomato figures it is just a matter of time.
He figures 1 1/2 - 2 Years.
In Dec. Germany [unsucessfully] tries a great attemp to Break the Ally advance. [OTL Battle of the Bulge].
1945-
In Feb the US Troops enter Manilia. Yakomato sends a few feelers thru the Swiss, to explore options.
In March the Japanese agents in Germany "find" a copy of the Yalta Agreement.
the Agreement gives Salhalkin to Russia, Formosa to China, With Russia entering the War in after Germany surrenders.
Armed with this agreement Yakomota stages a Coup inside the Military, giving himself complete control of the War efford.
In April with the US invadsion of Okinawa underway Yokamota negotiates a secert Ceasefire in China, with Chang, and starts withdrawing troops.
Yakomota also starts negotiations with Suhoru of Indonesia & Ho chi Min of Vietnam, to withdraw & regonize their independence in return for trade treaties.
On May 2nd Japanese repersentives meet with Ally negotiaters in Swisserland.
The Japs want 1-Emperor stays as Head of State, 2- US Reconizes Salhalkin & Formosa as interagal parts of the Home islands, 3- keeping Manchuria & Korea, 4- US Regonize Suhuro & Ho as heads of indedentent Countries, In return the Japenese will surender in Place to US & British troops in Place as Allies advance.
The US calls for total unconditional surrender.
On May 8 Germany Surrenders. VE Day
Following this Yokomota, and the negotiators drop all but the first 2 points [Emperor & Home Islands]
In early April The US & Japan reach agreement, & on April 15 the Emperor annouces Japans Surrender.
