Matilda(Maude) gives birth to a healthy son to Henry V, Holy Roman Emperor named Henry who inherits Britain and the Holy Roman Empire and becomes known as Henry V, the Holy Roman Emperor.
Alienor of Aquitaine has two daughters with Louis VII of France named Alix and Marie, Alienor meets Sancho III in a Pilgrimage with Louis VII and falls in love with him, Alienor divorces Louis VII of France in 1152 and marries Sancho III of Castile.

Sancho III of Castile and Henry VI of Holy Roman Emperor become good friends, Henry VI of Holy Roman Empire marries a french noblewoman.
Sancho III becomes the Emperor of Spain and Aquitaine becomes a part of Spain, Poiters and Toledo become defacto capitals of Spain.
Because of this, Spain is unified earlier and Alienor and her husband’s influence became strong in the Meditereanean and the Atlantic, Sancho III becomes the Emperor of Spain and has Alienor as his empress consort, Alienor names her first son Raimon and her second Joan.
Meanwhile, Emperor Henry V, Holy Roman Emperor was on a dispute which caused a war against King Louis VII which resulted in England and Normandy be conquered by France in 1160.
Alienor becomes a very powerful woman in Europe because of her influence,Raimon the son of Alienor and Sancho III inherit their vast lands and becomes the Emperor of Spain and aids the cathar crusade of Simon Montfort and the battle of Muret which resulted in victory and caused the death of the Raimon the Count of Toulouse and the death of Peter II of Aragon and all of the lands south of Rhone and Loire are under the Emperador Raimon of Spain and all of the lords there are his vassal although he treats the Holy Roman Emperor as his overlord as well, Marseille becomes the center of administration of Spain and naturally the dominant language of Spain became Occitan in 1220 and Emperador Raimon invaded the fledgling Kingdom of Portugal and signed a temporary truce with the moors in Al-Andalus in 1225.

Interesting setup.

Curiously, this wouldn't be the first time a Castillian king married the Aquitainian heiress - that would be Alfonso the Brave's marriage to Eleanor's aunt Agnes, but she died childless and William X (or was IX?) wound up having a son in the interim.

The Hapsburgs become powerful and because they absorbed Savoy and Zahringer duchies by allying with Spain in 1230 destroying Savoy and Zahinger that caused the Occitan Valleys becoming a part of Spain, now the Hapsburgs got the Piedmont plains, Aosta, Savoy, Romande and Bern

Here is the map of the TL in 1230.

Carol Von Hapsburg becomes the Holy Roman Emperor with Spanish backing in 1240.

Note:OTL Carol Von Hapsburg does not exist..

Interesting start, i subscribe. ;)

The only question is how Sancho III which what rights could claim the title of Emperor, if in OTL neither the Catholic Kings or Charles V or Philip II claimed a so high rank for Spain, considering also it ruled still half and not all of the peninsula.

Maybe i could be too pedant, but i guess the Imperial title lacked for now of rightful claims...

He became Emperor because he inherited Galicia and Leon having Aquitaine did make him powerful like what happened to Henry II of Anjou who inherited England as well..

I plan to make Spain under the Capets earlier..
