Earlier Islamic Champa

If the Island of Manila had more closer relations than OTL to the people of Sumatra and Malaya Peninsula especially on the Sultanates of Pasai and later Malacca it will create the Sultanate that rules the Island of Manila, but if that Is the case then Champa will get Islamized Earlier and Taiwan would be Islamified, what do you think will be the consequence on Vietnam if Champa got Islamized earlier..

You can make a TL out of this scenario if you would like....

Would Islamicization allow the Champa to resist the Vietnamese from expanding into their territory? Maybe an expansionist Champa would expand into those Khmer regions that the Vietnamese later too, forming the basis for an enduring state.

I think another POD of this is to make Majapahit collapse earlier or islamize earlier..

It would actually help if it was Islamicized. But it's really not that hard for Champa to end up being ruled by an Islamicized state.

In the 1470s-ish, Tra-Toan (his Viet name) ended up getting his state completely run over by the Vietnamese. Lê Thánh Tông, the Vietnamese emperor at the time was a pretty competent administrator and general for the terrain of Vietnam. Tra-Toan was on the other hand, both very unlucky and not as gifted militarily. Toan organized a large invasion northward, but his plans got caught and it completely failed, leaving Champa a wreck and open to Viet ethnic cleansing.

However, Toan's son ended up starting a dynasty in Aceh. If Toan spends a little less time war-mongering and a little more time exporting his family overseas, he could forge some important dynastic links with traders elsewhere. If this happens a bit earlier than OTL, and the Champa royalty decides to convert to Islam, it would be interesting. I don't know if it means Champa can really resist colonization by the Vietnamese, but it may mean that more Champa migrate around Indonesia.

Actually, the POD is during the 12th-13th century when Islam first arrived in SE Asia..

Is it also possible for Chams to expand to Hainan and Taiwan being settled by people from The Island of Manila and Champa..

Unlikely, but I guess not impossible. Taiwan and Manilla are pretty far away from the Cham and it wasn't really within their naval capacity to really take either. Even at the height of their empire, the Cham were constantly being besieged by Viet in the northern provinces or they were starting wars with the Khmer.

Have them forge dynastic links between Aceh and Malacca however and that all changes.

That is a part of my POD actually..

That would change a lot. I'm not entirely sure the Cham would bother expanding their empire into Luzon or Taiwan, but there's a fairly good chance they'd be a bit more successful against the Vietnamese. Not necessarily though, just they'd be in better shape to survive the conquests than otl.

'Luzon' or Manila or Ma-Yi by chinese in this scenario because I said that it was earlier Islamized because of it's dynastic relationships with Malacca and Pasai, the city of Manila was called Selurong at that time..I was thinking if both Manila and Champa were both Islamized earlier what would happen to Taiwan and Hainan could they be colonized by both of these people and what is the fate of Champa?
