Earlier Great War, is a Great War in or around 1914 still possible/plausible?

Just as it reads. If the Great War had occurred in the mid-late 19th Century is a World War II possible in or near 1914?

What does it look like and what are the options for a nineteenth century WWI followed by another Great War in the early twentieth century?

It depends on what happens, who is in control, who wants to fight, and who wants peace.
It is possible, but it will definitely be for reasons different from OTL.

Indeed. I was looking for your thoughts on possible scenarios. Also, can the Archuduke's assassination (butterflies willing) still provide an impetus for war in the scenarios you can think of?

I suppose a sequel conflict to a 19th century continent-wide war is possible. Technically, that was the Western Front of 1914-18 in relation to the Franco-Prussian War.

The assassination of an important politician could do it. If there is a lot of hatred and tension as per OTL it would be believable.

I think that a big and extended war, say the Austro-Prussia war pulls in other powers and lasted say 2-3 years might do what you want. It would potentially be a bloodbath than in that short time dwarves the Napoleonic wars and sees massive destruction with modern weapons being used.

If so I think many people would be very weary of going to war for a generation or two. Especially since the people who saw the height of the conflict would be in positions of power until at least ~1910. At the same time this would be long enough to fit into you're schedule plus, as OTL Germany showed if a country is bitter enough and lead by an irresponsible leadership it may risk war well before that period. [Especially as in OTL 1930s the revulsion about war makes other powers unwilling to stand up to it early on].
