DWBI: Reds win the Russian Civil War

The Red Army was one of the most organized groups in the civil war, while the opposition, the "White Army", frequently suffered from constant bickering and splinter groups. If it were not for a series of events that caused the Red Army to lose the war, the Red Army was going to win. How doesn't matter right now.

Now, what would happen if the Bolsheviks won the Russian Civil War?

It would rival the French Reign of Terror in brutality. The Bolsheviks were out for blood and would have happily killed anyone who got in their way.

I think German Democratic Peoples Republic wouldn't have launched barbarossa if the Russians had been red too.

I think the whole Second World War would have been butterflied away. If Russia and Germany had both been Communist, there would have been no conflict between the two. That conflict was what started the War.

And we were friends of the Germans, btw.(Russia ended up being neutral in WWII, though, thanks to the outbreak of the Second Civil War, although, this time, the Whites lost to the General Coalition, which included the Mensheviks, and other anti-Tsarist groups.)

As opposed to the mass murders that occurred in much of Russia against anyone even thought to be revolutionary after the War? The Bolsheviks might have been hungry for blood but they probably couldn't have carried out the sheer brutality that certain of the Whites did(Alexander Kerensky was reportedly so horrified by the brutality against the residents of Saratov and Samara, and greatly fearing for his life, that he and Count Stolypin fled to Sweden in 1920)

And I don't think I need to remind you of what happened in Austria-Hungary when the AVP took power under Adolf Hitler in 1929, and what became of the Jews, Slovenes, and Serbs, who were seen as being in the way of the "revival of Austrian folk-tradition". Why else would we ally ourselves with the Germans(Interesting thing to note, btw, is that Ferry Porsche, the guy who invented the Volkswagen, ended up being the official car-czar for the Germans after WWII, and later, served as Vice-Chairman of the GCP, as well as a honorary Volksarmee officer during WWII.)?

For starters the jews and other minority´s would be alot better of. The general ,,warlordism,, of the 1920´s would also be avoided.

Possibly. Also, we can't forget the problems in Poland after WWII, either: Took that country until 1959 to get its shit straight(Remember, WWII ended in '45, in Sept.). :(

There'd also be a far worse red scare in the US if Russia went communist as well. OTL saw an intense crackdown on organized labor, socialists and communists by the Wilson and Palmer, I could only imagine it being worse TTL.:(

You know, Germany didn't have to go communist. Keep the republic stable or get a Hitler like figure, or even Hitler in charge of one of the right wing parties, you can avoid Red Germany. Granted, I am pushing it quite a bit, I know.

Would there really be that much of a bigger scare? Russia at the time was an illiterate, un-industrialized nation and I don't really see the Bolsheviks changing that too quickly. Germany on the otherhand was an insanely power industrial power that only became an even bigger behemoth after the revolution.

It always seemed to me that our red scare was caused by fears of German industry outpacing our own. You still have plenty of fear mongering today in America towards the GDPR, of course now it's sorta moot seeing as how their GDP surpassed ours back in the early 90's.

I actually had a friend that moved to Germany a couple years back, maybe I'll join him if President Rubio can't get the economy going again.

yeah, Former Democratic President Ryan and Vice President Obama ruined the economy with their economic policies.

I hope that now with the Stalwart Party in power things might get better.

Have Leon Trotsky live. Keeping Lenin's second in command would have made a major difference in the red effort

A red Germany & Russia??? In my universe Germany remained a weak republic through the 1920s, then was turned into a Facist dictatorship in circa 1934. That went badly for every one for a year or two.

Has Trotsky lived, we might have seen an earlier and stronger Red Revolution in Germany, the land of Karl Marx. During World War II, Poland would be crushed between two communist powers if Russia didn't push from the east like in OTL. The capitalist powers of the British, French, Italians and Japanese would probably be defeated, unless Japan delayed or canceled the Attack on Pearl Harbor, which might lead to a red invasion of China. The Americans were already helping the Chinese against the Japanese, but would probably fight harder and not need a direct attack to enter the war. Or, Mexico cold go commie, and like during WWI, Germany could again ask Mexico to attack America, bringing it into yet another Europeanwa turned World War.

At the very least there would be a lot fewer pretentious college kids wearing Trotsky T-shirts from the Gap
