Dutch Hudson's Bay Company: WI 2.0

Following this thread

There seemed (seems) to be a mistaken view the Dutch company would have the Rupert's Land grant, which is by no means certain; in fact, IMO, a DHBC would likely get a far less-generous grant, given the risk of interfering with British or French prerogatives in *Canada.

That doesn't mean there would be no benefit. IMO, the wealth provided to the Dutch economy would be significant (if not on par with, frex, sugar from Haiti).'

Does that lead to conflict with the Brits? France? Does it actually encourage French settlement?

The presumption the ARW happens the same, & on schedule, seems a trifle off, too.

It strikes me this might mean Dutch efforts further south, such as at New Amsterdam, could be more successful, too.

Thoughts?
