Dutch Cuba

WI in 1607 the Dutch in alliance with Henry IV of France conquered Havana, and raided Cartagena and Puerto Belo. The Invasion force would be 80 ships and 7,000 men, they would have good intelligence on the region from the informal trade that the Dutch carried out during that time. Henry IV was willing to bankroll this action as he was started to see the New World as a possible source of great wealth.

Wouldn't the French then want a very large slice of the deal?

The more I read about it I think the resulting conquest would be ran by a "French West Indies Company." However it would be entirely open to Dutch Merchants. One reason why the Dutch would take part is that they intended to distract the French away from their French East Indian Company which was a competitor to the VOC.

But it could also turn into a joint West Indian Company, owned in part by the Stadtholders and the French King.
