Dutch Colony of Zwaanendael (Delaware) Survives

A certain little known colony by the Dutch was established on the site of Lewes, DE in 1630. It pretty much defined the territory that would latter be Delaware. The colony itself was destroyed by Nanticoke Indians as a result of a killing and prompted the Dutch to consolidate their colonies on New Netherlanda in New York. What if it wasn't destroyed? Greater Dutch influence?

Bumping for the sheer instance of someone asking on Delaware history other than me! :D

Anyhoo, New Sweden may be founded...and taken over by the Dutch like in OTL anyway. In that case it's a mini-version of what happened when England took over New Netherland. That is, two Dutch halves united by conquest of a middle foreign colony.

I think in the end it doesn't make a big difference. England captures the Dutch North American colonies and it doesn't matter if Zwaanendael existed or not. Sure it could in theory lead to some butterflies that make the Dutch keep their North American colonies, but that is hardly a certainty.

Ah if only the Nanticoke Tribe had been able to to form a powerful enough confederation to resist colonization.
