What I found about the Belgian compensation after WWI was that there was some logic behind the areas Belgium got. Basicly they were areas that already had some connection to Belgium or the Southern Netherlands (having been part of the duchy of Limburg for example). They hadn't been rewarded with some random lands on the border. The same coud apply here somewhat. Herzogenrath had been part of Overmaas but had become Prussian after the Napoleonic wars and Erkelenz had been part of Gueldres Overkwartier. I could see (some) of these areas become part of the Netherlands. That is very roughly what I meant with the "border corrections" I mention previously. It will never be bog, certainly not as big as Bakker-Schut. But I could see some small parts becoming Dutch (although probably not Aachen, that city is simply a too important part of German history, I think.looking on Maps
I think that Netherlands would take piece out German main land and Colonies
East Friesland would be one option
the Other would be Germans coal deposits near Netherlands borders, like area of town Aachen, Eschweiler and Erkelenz
This give the Netherland more Coal for Industrial use

On Colonies
I think in similar lines with option Guinea but also with today The Federated States of Micronesia and Palau (former German Colony)
The problem I have with Micronesia and Palau is the same problem I have with German South East Africa (and actualy with New guinea), other allies might want them. This is not a war of Germany vs the Netherlands and after the Netherlands won they can get whatever they want from Germany. Other, more important, allies also want a piece of the pie. Would Britain, Japan or Australia etc not also want Palau and Micronesia? What would the Netherlands exactly get?
As I said I think part of New Guinea is reasonable. But is Palau or Micronesia? Btw It is possible to simply split Micronesia. Give Japan some islands and the Netherlands some other islands.
