Dukes of Montecuma as emperors of Mexico

Among Montecuma's baptized descendand's there actually had been some notable figures in Spanish History. There even Had been the title ,Duke of Montecuma'. What If the heirs of Montecuma Had been crowned emperors of Mexico during the Mexican Empire ? Would that give the new country a patriotic morale boost ? I don't know much about this topic myself so I'm interested in what you have to say about that.

Interesting. I think this is a good idea, but weren’t these guys loyal to the Spanish throne? I doubt that any Mexican freedom fighter would want a Spanish duke on their throne.
