Dukakis wins in 1988, loses in 1992.

I still think we'd have gun ownership, maybe for like a few years it'd gone, but I think it'd come back, too many people would complain and protest.

So, I guess it's Dole/Campell in '92?

More gun paranoia, we had gun ownership without a recognized individual right to own guns for 217 years. One the my predecessor other point. I remember hearing that Dole was interested in Lamar Alexander as a running mate. So I think the good economic times would have meant victory for Dole in 96 and Alexander in 00. Alexander could have used terrorism and gay marriage to win another term in 04.Which mean the longest strech one party held the White House since the days of Roosevelt and Truman.

If one party having 4 terms is possible.

If the invasion of Kuwait took place in a Dukakis administration and he decided not to send American troops to drive the Iraqis out of Kuwait, would Saudi Arabia be compelled to fight the Iraqis instead?

I have no idea how strong the Saudi military was in the region. If there are no US troops, then Osama bin Laden does not complain about infidel troops stationed on Muslim soil.

Also if the US stays out of a Persian Gulf War, would the UK and Canada send troops especially with UN support?

Jordan's friendship with the UK dates back to the birth of the kingdom (King Hussein did attend Sandhurst military academy). Could Jordan be compelled to side with the British or stay neutral instead of supporting Iraq as in OTL?

Would it be possible for a coalition of Arab nations to join forces against Iraq (even if under Arab League auspices)?
