hi all,
"In early 2007, the Sachs for President Draft Committee was formed to encourage Sachs to run for President of the United States in the 2008 election."
-from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeffrey_Sachs#Accolades_and_Affiliations
well i haven't seen anything yet about this, but if there is, a link would be nice.
anyway, i don't know really his reputation amongst his fellow americans whether he was the real deal or a tad bit overrated, but from what i gather, he has rather the accolades and recognition as an influential macroeconomist, if wikipedia is to be trusted and given the way my economics professor praises him.
regardless, what if Dr. Jeffrey Sachs ran for POTUS during the 2008 elections? Was this feasible (i.e. did he have enough political capital and support), or ASB? Which party would he have ran for? And say he did win the bid for POTUS, what would his policies be, especially regarding the financial crisis? You think he would be more an effective executive rather than Obama, given his current policy (i know it's prolly early to judge his performance, but speculate anyway)?
p.s. as you see in my post count i'm kinda new, so go easy on me
