Double-Blind Map Challenge

Create a map from around the year 2000 that fulfills the following conditions:

1. There must be at least 5 microstates in Europe.

2. Russia must touch the Black Sea, the Baltic Sea, and the Pacific Ocean, but may not touch the Aral Sea or hold Crimea.

3. Two European countries other than Spain and Portugal must hold territory in South America.

4. Danzig, Konigsberg, Memel, and Riga must all be part of different countries.

5. England must hold land on the European continent, but it may not be in France.

6. Greenland owned by a European country, Newfoundland owned by a North American country.

7. An independent African country with land on the continent but its capital not on the continent.

8. There must be a Communist country in the Americas.

9. An Indonesian island is divided among three countries.

10. Mongolia is independent, but does not touch Lake Baikal.

11. China must be divided into at least two countries.

12. Two Asian countries must be divided between Communists and democracies.

13. Three cities in the world must be divided between countries.

14. Mecca and Baghdad should not be ruled by theocracies.

15. At least one country in Africa and one country in Oceania must share the same root for their names.

Have fun. I look forward to seeing what you guys make from this.

Let's see here...
1. Prussia (rump Koenigsberg), San Marino, Andorra, Monaco, Free City Danzig, and Latvia (alright, not sure what the limit is for size, but it is small-ish)
2. I'm presuming that Russia must have lost a major war at some point.
3. Britain and France
4. Danzig - Free City, Koenigsberg- Remnant of Prussia, Memel- Part of Poland, Riga- Part of Russia
5. English controls Denmark-Norway
6. England owns Greenland, USA owns Newfoundland
7. Zanzibar
8. Ohio
9. Sumatra, divided between Britain, France, and Atjeh (independent)
10. Mongolia here must be a Japanese puppet (a super-Japan, which I don't think is done too often)
11. Japanese puppet in the north, restored Empire under a new dynasty in the South.
12. Ottoman Empire/Turkey and India.
13. Constantinople, Jerusalem, and Sukhumi
14. Under British and French colonization
15. The "Austral Union" and "Australia", both coming from the Latin for "south".

I don't understand how this is possible.
Malabo, Equatorial Guinea. While we're at it, I'm assuming Equatorial Guinea and New Guinea for the African/Oceanian nations with a similar route?

I'm lost on the cities that are part of more than one country. >_<

OOC: I'm writing from a TL that began diverging in 1550.

1. There must be at least 5 microstates in Europe.

That's easy, just prevent the 50 Years' Campaign and look at Germany.

2. Russia must touch the Black Sea, the Baltic Sea, and the Pacific Ocean, but may not touch the Aral Sea or hold Crimea.

Then they conquer Kazan and Astrakhan like in our TL but the Kazakhs either resist Russian expansion or are taken over by the Oirats who do the job for them. The Baltic is easy. For the Black Sea they must conquer Circassia.

3. Two European countries other than Spain and Portugal must hold territory in South America.

OOC: It's France, Britain and the Netherlands in OTL. That's 3 European countries.

4. Danzig, Konigsberg, Memel, and Riga must all be part of different countries.

Polish Danzig, Prussian Konigsberg, Lithuanian Memel, Russian Riga.

5. England must hold land on the European continent, but it may not be in France.

England/Britain loses Calais but supports a (partially or entirely) successful anti-Habsburg revolt in the Netherlands and receives at least one port in exchange.

6. Greenland owned by a European country, Newfoundland owned by a North American country.

The North American Uprising is even more successful. Some European country (Britain or Scandinavia) colonizes Greenland later.

7. An independent African country with land on the continent but its capital not on the continent.

A Zanzibar that is neither Turkish nor Portuguese/Spanish.

8. There must be a Communist country in the Americas.

This is easiest to do in one of the colonies that used a feudal-like system.

9. An Indonesian island is divided among three countries.

Portugal stays separate from Spain. The 2 of them and some local power divide Borneo.

10. Mongolia is independent, but does not touch Lake Baikal.

Why is this a challenge? China doesn't touch Lake Baikal either and it controls the entire region of Mongolia.

11. China must be divided into at least two countries.

Rival dynasties, it happened before.

12. Two Asian countries must be divided between Communists and democracies.

Here I have no idea.

13. Three cities in the world must be divided between countries.

OOC: Jerusalem, Rome and Nicosia?

14. Mecca and Baghdad should not be ruled by theocracies.

Do you consider modern Turkey a theocracy?

OOC: Do you consider Saudi Arabia one?

15. At least one country in Africa and one country in Oceania must share the same root for their names.

That's easy. Have a European power establish colonies in both Africa and Oceania and name them New [country name or region within the country]. Like the Spaniards did in the Americas.

OOC: You mean the Guineas?

Are you sure this shouldn't be in the ASB section?

I mean, Russia has ports in the Indian Ocean today.

Furthermore, this idea of "Communism" never took off at all! Do you refer to the very different Sino-Communitive Ideology that evolved that replaced the Qing in China? Communism would never have worked, but the SC Party has managed to improve governance through its "All for All" stratagems.

And this is a massive England-Welsh wank as well! How in blazes can England hold territory in Europe when its been administered as part of Germany for two centuries?

Finally, as the very heart of Asian Culture and a nation that has largely beat Europe at its own game, I think it impossible to partition China--they own a third of Asia and much of the Indonesian islands you'd like to have split into "Oceania".

I don't think anyone is going to be able to do this. Mods, can you move this to the ASB forum, please?

OOC:

I like and all but regarding Mecca and Baghdad see the Saudi Constitution:

Article 1
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a sovereign Arab Islamic state with Islam as its religion; God's Book and the Sunnah of His Prophet, God's prayers and peace be upon him, are its constitution, Arabic is its language and Riyadh is its capital.

But pretty good.
