Dorians replace the "Sea Peoples" as naval raiding power

Okay, what if the migrating Indo-Germanic "Sea Peoples" established themselves as long term raiders of the Mediterranean ? What if they became a raiding maritime power, that could have sacked Egypt and the Near East and also took efforts in colonizing ? OTL the Dorians invaded Greece and Crete just when the Sea Peoples established themselves in Greece. Could the Dorians replace the Sea People ( maybe even absorbing them) in their function as a raiding power and destabilize the Mediterranean Sea ? Maybe even creating a new order ? Would be interesting, if Dorians could make Egypt tributary for example maybe even claiming the Pharaoh throne.

Who knows if they weren't?
And if by dorians we later agree to understand the wider hellenic culture, then even your egyptian challenge was arguably met almost a millennium later (i.e. the Ptolemies).

Among Late Bronze Age historians, it's generally believed that the Dorians didn't invade, but rather gradually migrated as individual tribes into an already ruined and destroyed Greece already in the Dark Ages.
