Dole/Dukakis in '88 - who wins?

IIRC, George Bush Sr. lost New Hampshire in '88. Let's say he also fails in Iowa, and the "wimp factor" seems to be a bigger factor; Dole is the nominee by default, almost. (He, at least, eventually supported the treaty with the Soviets; not right away, but IIRC he only said he needed more time to look at it. Here, that's seen as cautious leadership.)

Dukakis was pretty much the clear winner with the Democrts, so...who wins the election. Neither is a very interesting campaigner. Dukakis' VP (Bentsen) was good (I'm a Republican but I actually think he'd have made a decent President) but Dole likely wouldn't choose Quayle. (Who? Kemp might be likely, because he would bring in a large state, whereas that was assured when the Texan Bush was nominated for President. Pete Wilson, then a Senator from California, would have also been possible.)

So, in one of the more lackluster campaigns of all time, who comes out on top?
