Does anyone know when Champa rice was first developed?

I'm not talking about when it was first introduced into China,but when such a breed was first developed.All I could find about it was about when it was introduced into China but not the time period it was first developed.

No-one seems to know exactly when, probably because it gradually developed its characteristics over centuries. According to this article here, Champa rice evolved first in the uplands of what's now eastern India, Bangaladesh and Burma, and then migrated from there into SE Asia with the spread of Indian cultural influence (and thence to China). So could have reached modern Vietnam sometime as early as the fourth century AD, but no source I know of can estimate even the century it developed.
