Would the United States exist as it does today without the efforts of FDR administration?

As it does today? No. You'd have either a more expansive or less expansive social safety net state and a different social existence.

Exist period? Yes. There won't be any "Crimson Skies" collapse going on.

The USA as a state exists. But in what form and state they are? There you have a big area of debate!

Please, could the guy who voted "No" at least explain why he/she does not think the USA would have survived?

That would be me, the guy who posted, I have been reading alot about what happened during that time from the 1930" to the 1940's and a thought occured to me to ask about this.

Uhhh.....yes.

It would still be governed by the same constitution. It would still be a democratic federal republic. It might be a bit weaker and less centralized but would still be a major power. It might have made some different foreign policy choices in the 1933-1944 period that either reduced the chance of US participation in the European War or even led to at least a partial Nazi victory. It would still probably have ended up fighting and winning a war with Japan. FDR's New Deal reforms and social pprograms may well have saved the USA from some really ugly internal violence in the 1930's, but I seriously doubt this would have led to anything like a successful revolution leading to a left- or right-wing dictatorship or a national breakup.

Yeah, I doubt the US would be like it is today, but it won't be the Reichskommissariat Amerika, or the American Soviet Socialist Republic. It's impossible it would Balkanize, either.

I see where he clarified however to be fair the question in the title line and the question in the post are two completely different questions. The title line asks would the US exist and the post asks would it exist as it does today.

And my answer remains basicaly yes.

exactly, and my answers to the two questions would be different.

Yes. Without a PoD back in the early 20th century at minimum (which is the route Jello takes in Reds), the Great Depression simply does not cause enough social dislocation for there to be a major political collapse. However things would be different; the social security net will be more extensive as without FDR, the chances of a more radical change to American society increase dramatically (e.g., Henry Wallace eventually being the FDR analogue)

It would exist, it just would take longer to exit the Great Depression and not likely fight in World War II because there is no Lend Lease Act nor embargo on the Japanese. Eventually though I think America will more slowly become a military and economic super power because even without fighting in the European theater, the Russians will probably beat Nazi Germany and will expand as a military threat to Europe that eventually acquires nuclear technology. The Japanese will also become more grounded in Asia and be a regional threat in the Pacific. Its hard to avoid some sort of military and economic arms race with communism and fascism in the outside world over time which would cause greater American prosperity as competition for such still expanded in the world.
