Do You Guys remember the Presidency of Vietnam War hero George W. Bush?

In 1968 then Green Baret George W. Bush recieved the Medal of Honor by Lyndon Johnson. During Tet Captain George W. Bush had singlehandly fought his way to a downed US Marine helicopter in the Center of Hue rescuing all 4 crewmembers.

In 1975 he let the last evacuation detail from Saigon staying behind to catch the last helcopter out of Saigon. That earned him a silver star.

His heroism lead him to later be elected for Congress for his home district of Dallas Texas.

In 1990 his father then Governer of Texas died from a Heartattack and George left Congress and in 1992 was elected Governer of State. He served in this position from 1992 to 1999. During which became as the only Governer in the South who used most on education under the plan "No child left behind".

He through himself into the race to become the Republic Nomation for President of the United States. He won and choose senator Condoleeza Rice to be his runningmate.
After 9.11 President Bush Invaded the home of hijackers Afghanistan and this resulted in Usama bin Ladin being caught by US Specialforces on November 8th 2002.

His most controversial dission was to invade Iran who in the mind of President Bush had been main cause of Instability in the Middle East since the Islamic Revolution of 1979.

With the threat of Iran removed Israel made peace with he Arab neighbours this Culimated in Cairo 2 deal of 2006 and the creation of a Palestinian State.

2009: Former President Bush recieved the Nobel Peace Price for his part in securing a final peace in the Middle East.

What in your opinion is the pivotal movement in the Presidency of George W. Bush?

You're too kind to the man. 9/11 was not that major, what year was that again? (OOC: Remember the butterflies), it was the 3/15 attacks that pushed us to war. The whole torture allegations maim his legacy to.

I guess you listened to that radio hack Keith Olbermann, you know that guy who claim the Government is behind everything bad in America. Imagine if he had had a show on a major news network? As I remember he was fired from FOX Sports Network.

Everyone is still fighting everyone in the Middle East, I don't know why people pretend there is peace because "Bush were there". And the new military regime in Iran is guilty of more crimes against humanity than I can count on my fingers.

What ever do you mean? Iran is now a secular state. And with their recent election a hope for freedom and personal rights in the Middle East.

Also women can dress how ever they like. And the Iranian Oilfields have re-opened to the West.

Also hadn't Bush not invaded Iran then peacewing of Labour Party in Israel wouldn't won the election in 2004, and then Palestinians would have had there state today.

Do You guys still think that the reason why the liberal host of Countdown on MSNBC - Bill O'Reilly was fired from that Network because he had claimed that former President Bush had been part of my lai massacre in 1968 and therefore should have been stripped of his medal of honor. That claim turning out to be fake off cause.

This is very confusing. Is this thread based on something like the possibility that this heroic person was switched at birth with the actual W?

So somewhere in Texas in the late 60s/early 70s a young man actually got thrown into jail after being convicted for drunk driving. Cool!

No, I do remember

the drug-addled heroin addict son of a Texas congressman convicted of fraud and money-laundering who crashed his plane after a mid-air crash with another bad pilot, Lt. John McCain and killed them both.

Much better outcome don't you think?

You mean in 3/15-2002? Then Iranian patrol boats attacked a US Navy Cargoship which was carrying aid to Iraq??

OOC: I see two possibilities (that immediatly jump out at me) going on in the OP creators mind, with subpossibles in the first one.
1: This is a DBWI, there are three subpossibles to be drawn from this:
A. The poster is being utterly ironic (I am going to check his post history to verify this).
B. This poster is genuinely proposing this as a serious AH because he believes it would be something that would genuinely happen.
2: The poster genuinely believes the background which he posted is actual history and is asking what if it was not. In which case we have a delusion of such magnitude as to be classified as a mental disorder here.

I am 95% certain that the poster is possibility 1 with subpossible A.

In any case, this properly deserves to be placed in the ASB section.

Why couldn't it be straight AH?

George W. Bush, if he wanted to emulate his father by going to war, could have found ways to go to Vietnam and do medal-worthy deeds.

You all know the elections in Iran is not free. Opposition parties are harassed, political activists are tortured and the Iranian National Party is run by the military. Iran is a military dictatorship.

And the Israelis and Palestinians are still murdering each other.

Under a naive Reza II who thinks there is democracy.

OOC: Sorry, but I couldn't help thinking of this Onion story. :D

Bush Increasingly Focused On How Revisionist History Will See Him

WASHINGTON, DC—With many of his administration's policies facing growing public disapproval, President Bush is reportedly becoming more concerned with how he will be portrayed by future revisionist historians. "Just last summer, the president never reflected on how apologists would spin his increased lobbying for an unpopular war, or how future far-right generations would justify his failed domestic policy initiatives," presidential scholar Dr. Robert Dallek said. "He reportedly asked an aide if, decades from now, the deluded would see him as great, like Ronald Reagan, or merely as a fully redeemed elder statesman, like Richard Nixon." Margaret Meehan, a spokesman for the National Board Of Historical Revision, offered no comment on any future portrayal of "America's most beloved and accomplished president."
