Divide et Impera: A Collaborative TL 1738-1938

Divide et Impera, inspired by several other collaborative TLs, is a collaborative TL that stretches from 1738 to 1938, a full two centuries. There are some simple rules which all contributors must abide by:

  1. No particularly egregious wanks: Wanking is acceptable, within the bounds of plausibility (OTL has had weirder things in it). But a wank that leads to, say, France ruling all of Europe by 1740 is completely unacceptable.
  2. All new entries must be vetted by me for fitting in with the rest of the TL and plausibility: Makes sense, I think.
  3. Not everything has to go exactly as OTL: If Hitler rises in 1933 despite Germany never existing, that is not a good idea.
  4. The Butterfly Effect will be gradually enforced, as a corollary to the fourth rule: eg. Most famous early 20th Century figures will definitely not exist, most 19th century ones just might, and figures born in the 18th century after the POD could.
  5. No foreshadowing: eg. If your post is in 1037, don't reference 1076 unless 1076 has already been laid out. Otherwise you restrict other posters.
  6. A year must have one event minimum. There is no maximum limit. At 1778 this will change to every month must have an event.
  7. A post will not be considered canon until 24 hours have passed, during which another poster (myself included) could voice an objection: In the interest of fairness, my own posts will be subjected to this rule.
Now, let's get this going:

January 3rd 1738: Crown Prince Frederick of Prussia dies of a sudden infection, and is greatly mourned.

February 13th 1739 : Mughal forces under Emperor Muhammed Shah defeat Shah Ashfar of the Persian Empire at the battle of Karnal. Mughal forces begin to advance through southern Balouchistan after the decisive victory.

*OTL Persia won and took the Emperor hostage and nearly bankrupted the Mughals, this should help keep them alive.

EDIT : Didn't even mention the battle's name, silly me!

Accepted, not too wankish.

4 June 1838: Princess Augusta, wife of Frederick, Prince of Wales, gives birth to a daughter, who is named Elizabeth (The future George III was born in OTL).

Nobody else interested? :(

Dude it's only been 2 hours.

Also the fact that dates are "vetted" and there's a day long cannon-wait is very off-putting to me.

November 5th, 1738: Karl Alexander von Bismark dies as a young boy due to a winter cold.

May 14th, 1738: The Russian authorities discover that residents of Ochakov are coming down with the Bubonic plague. Those infected are rounded up and quarantined, and the city narrowly avoids a major outbreak, which allows the Russians to continue occupying the city. However, an outbreak occurs in Kinburn, and the Russian army is forced to retreat.

July 22, 1739:
Austrian forces successfully retreat from Grocka during the night, and avoid a battle with the Turks.

April 4th, 1940: Maria Theresa and Maria Anna, both daughters of Hapsburg King Charles VI, die in mysterious accidents, one involving a poisoned drink and the other a horse carriage. Thus makes the Pragmatic Sanction of 1713 useless, and this makes Maria Josepha, daughter of Joseph I, heir presumptive once more.

February 17th, 1942: Charles VI of Habsburg dies naturally in his sleep. The hereditary domains are taken over by Maria Josepha, and her husband, Augustus III of Poland, is narrowly elected as the Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire.

A few errors with the dates, but otherwise accepted.

March 17, 1739: Frederick, Crown Prince Prussia, is found hanging in his chambers. Though most assume it is suicide, through history there will be conspiracy theories about the death.

I already posted Frederick II's demise, look at the first post.

Accepted, not too ASB.
