Disunited post-War Germany; the effect on Europe?

Let us ignore plausiblity, and look at the question.

What would the effect be on Europe if BRD wasn't establish after WWII, but the Länder was kept as seperate countries, a few will likely have to be killed off (Bremen specifict) to make it work.

I would expect slower pace of globalization, not limited to Europe. Significance of BRD as a role model for hard currency and low inflation should not be underestimated.

Well, Ludwig Erhard would still be around... maybe now we would be reading about 'Bavarian economic miracle', and Bavarian gulden would be quite respectable currency. :)

Honestly I think it would be a little the other way around, Germany want to be united, and if they can't unite in BRD, they will likely seek another way. That would be through the EEC, I think we see a faster, stronger and earlier European integration. The German states will likely push for a common currency a lot earlier.

German reunification would probably be a bigger issue in Europe.

In this cas I don't think we will see a German unification in 1990, rather we would see the German stasates push for fast East German membership of EEC/EU

It would've kept the Soviet Union out of eastern Europe: it was the fear of a resurgent Germany attacking the Soviet Union that formed much of their post war strategy in Europe. However it would not have resolved the antagonisms between the Poles and the Germans. The fact that Prussia would've still been a very large state in its own right would've caused problems as well so the EEC and its successor the EU would not have emerged much faster than in OTL.

I think it's overly optimistic to think that it would keep the Russian out East Europe, BRD was only founded in 1949, at that point the Russians had establish their dominance over East Europe.

But to the suggestion that Prussia would be a large state in it own rigth, not really, the post war zone didn't include a Prussian state, beside that Russia would likely still establish a unified East German state, which would recognise the new borders.

I disagree. Stalin planned absorbing eastern Europe into a communist block from the start (since at least the Tehran conference, specifically).
