Disney and/or Disney Pixar making true-to-life Movies from the 1990s

Could Disney and/or Disney Pixar make true-to-life movies? Like based on historical stuff? And oh the main characters are not politicians or some boring stuff, I mean the story of 'commoners' that were affected by that event...

The original Toy Story was really technological cutting edge in it's day. The server farm that was used to render the graphics was very large, and again, for it's day - very complex. The three everyday items I understood were the most difficult to create: hair, water in motion (waves...), and leaves. That's part of why so much of the original Toy Story was set indoors, with toys as the main characters.

It took them a few years of artistic experimentation and extensive technologic development to get to the leverl you are hoping to achieve. That would have been spectacular achievement

No no, I mean the animation's the same, only the story and characters are from real life. Like for example, they film a story about a person in an ATL Tiananmen Succeeds "A Song was Heard"-style.

Or about the collapse of the USSR. The story reflects life in t
hose two events.

I think I understand your point now.

For the first pass of an expensive new technology, I think you shoot for something showy and entertaining - as Pixar did. The value of the concept gets prooven, they make enough money to continue, and then you can move on to other areas.

Still, in early days if you want to show historic events, I do think you need to focus on stories that aren't as easily replicated by actors on a set. Build the Pyramids at Giza, Apollo 11 on the moon, that type of thing.
