During the years leading up to the battle of France, what events come to mind that would in one way or another reduce the indecisiveness and lack of will in the chain of command? (Hopefully, avoiding the necessity for random deaths - no incompetent generals getting hit by a car or whatever.) Who stands in the French Army to make the right decisions, and who would prove to only be a hindrance?
I would also love any sources on the French Army in the years leading up to war.
