Excuse me if i'm not an expert on early american history.
So, assume Aaron Burr manages to get elected to the office of President of the United States in the 1800's.
I hear he was a visionary who wanted to expand the United States as an independent power, and he was also friendly to the french in a way. I've also heard that he despised slavery. So, i ask: what would be the internal and external policies of an US under president Burr? How would the Louisiana purchase and the war of *1812 (if it ever happens in that year) play out? How would Burr deal with the slave states, Britain, and France? Would Burr install a family dictatorship, at least a cult of personality, or is that too ASB?

Aside from the louisiana purchase, how different would be the expansion of the US?

Assuming Jefferson dies in 1801 soon after the inauguration there are a lot of butterflies. Mainly Jefferson's massive military cuts are not happening, Burr was a former soldier who understood the value of the military. Burr also appears to be more militant than Jefferson. So we are likely to see some analogous War of 1812. Which could see the United States fair better and actually force the British to concede some territory. I doubt there will be anything like all of Canada, but Ontario or Acadia are in reach.

Of course, if Burr wins in the House in 1800, there's a good chance the country descends into civil war. Jefferson had militias at his command.

Was Jefferson really that thristy for being president? He won IOTL, and we didn't see any pro-Burr militias springing around.

No, but he would've rejected the result of a Congressional selection. Of course, that may well have been bluster (Jefferson was as textual as anyone) but we'll never know.

Considering Burr's quite liberal for-his-time views on race and gender, how would the Haitian Independence War play out during his presidency?
