i know how everyone here hates straight borders, especially in places where there ARE geographic features which can be used as a basis for those, whereas its the larger, emptier areas where straight (or mostly straight) borders are A-OK. however, just looking at the big world map on my wall, which gives some vague topography and the internal borders for the US and Canada as well as looking at major rivers and particularly large lakes, i really see no reason why most of those rivers should exist in the first place
anyway, for various ATLs, what kinds of changes to borders in various countries with straight lines serving for alot of their internal borders (specifically th US and canada) would you make?
here's an example: y'know that little portion of arizona on the northern side of the colorado river? given the natural barrier of the grand canyon, youd think it would make more sense if that part of the country was part of either nevada or utah (personally, i think i goes best as part of utah)
