Different Colonization TL
Foreword
I wanted to write a timeline with a late 15th century POD, I changed the names of this timeline many times, I was even kicked because of it and recently I canceled it :(, I had a chance to reconsider and revive it when I was writing my other timeline, I read about the life of Isabella of Castile, I wanted to write an Alternate age of Exploration so here it is and revived.

Isabella, Queen of Portugal and Castile

The Castilian Inheritance
Isabel was born in Madrigal de las Altas Torres, Ávila to John II of Castile and Isabel of Portugal on April 22, 1451. She was the granddaughter of Henry III of Castile and Catherine of Lancaster. At the time of her birth, her older half brother Enrique (Henry) was in line for the throne before her. Enrique, was twenty-six years old at that time and he was married but he was childless. Her younger brother Alfonso was born two years later on 17 November 1453 and displaced her in the line of succession. When her father, Juan II, died in 1454, Henry became King Henry IV. He left his younger children, Isabel and Alfonso in the care of their half-brother Henry. Her brother Alfonso, mother, and she then moved to Arévalo.
These were times of turmoil for Isabel. Isabel lived with her brother and her mother in a castle in poor conditions where they also suffered from shortage of money. Although her father arranged in his will for his children to be financially well taken care of, her half-brother Henry did not comply with their father's wishes, either from a desire to keep his half-siblings restricted or ineptitude. Even though the living conditions were lackluster, under the careful eye of her mother, Isabel was instructed in lessons of practical piety and in the deep reverence for religion.
In 1460 Enrique had already offered the hand of Isabel to Carles, Prince of Viana, the eldest son of John II of Aragon, and heir, at the same time, to the Kingdom of Navarre. This Henry did in spite of the opposition of the King of Aragon, Isabel was married to Charles, Prince of Viana in Barcelona in June 5, 1460 as a young child, after a year, Charles, Prince of Viana dies a year after marrying Isabel of Castile, after the death of Carles, Prince of Viana, Isabel of Castile became less interested about marrying the son of Juana Enriquez, Isabel knew the problems of Carles of Viana and Juana Enriquez at her stay with the Prince of Viana, apparently Isabel and Carles of Viana were very close, after the death of the Prince of Viana, Isabel went to her brother and she agreed on who she will marry the one chosen by her brother, Enrique and she enjoyed luxury at their own and she also studied.
When King Henry's wife, Queen Joan of Portugal, was about to give birth,Alfonso, the brother of Isabel of Castile was summoned to court (Segovia) and taken away from his mother to be under more control and direct supervision by the king and finish their educations. Alfonso was put under the care of a tutor.
The noblemen who were anxious for power confronted the King, demanding that his younger half brother Infante Alfonso be named his successor. They even went as far as to ask Alfonso to seize the throne. The nobles, now in control of Alfonso and claiming him to be the true heir, clashed with Henry's forces at the Second Battle of Olmedo in 1467. The battle was a draw. Enrique agreed to make Alfonso his heir, provided Alfonso would marry his daughter, Joanna. Soon after Alfonso was created Prince of Asturias, the title given to the heir of Castile and Leon, he died, likely of the plague. The nobles who had supported him suspected poisoning. As she had been named in her brother's will as his successor, the nobles asked Isabel to take his place as champion of the rebellion. However, support for the rebels had begun to wane, and Isabel preferred a negotiated settlement to continuing the war. She met with Henry and, at Toros de Guisando, they reached a compromise: the war would stop, Henry would name Isabel his heir instead of Joanna, and Isabel would not marry without Enrique's consent but he would not be able to force her to marry against her will. Isabel's side came out with most of what they desired, though they did not go so far as to officially depose Enrique: they were not powerful enough to do so, and Isabel did not want to jeopardize the principle of fair inherited succession, since it was upon this idea that she had based her argument for legitimacy as heir.
In February 1469, Isabel was married to Prince Joao of Portugal, the future Joao II of Portugal because Isabel wanted someone near to her age, instantly, Isabel was pregnant and gave birth to a daughter named Isabel in February 6, 1470, Joanna felt that her claims are already weak, and she was very alone in her own fight in July 4, 1472, Isabel gave birth to a son named Afonso.
After the death of her father Enrique in 1475, Joanna decided to flee to France and decided to marry the Dauphin of France, the future Charles VIII, she decided to marry the Dauphin because she felt that she cannot fight against the claims of Isabel of Castile on her own and she has problems in her own parentage, she will fight on it on the future when she can gather more forces against her aunt and in October 5, 1482, Joanna of Castile was married to Dauphin Charles who became King on 1483 after his father's death and Joanna gave birth to a son, Charles Orlando in February 4, 1485.
In 1485, Colombo presented his plans to Joao II, King of Portugal. He proposed the king equip three sturdy ships and grant Colombo one year's time to sail out into the Atlantic, search for a western route to the Orient, and return.
Colombo also requested he be made "Great Admiral of the Ocean", appointed governor of any and all lands he discovered, and given one-tenth of all revenue from those lands.
The king submitted Colombo' proposal to his experts, who rejected it. It was their considered opinion that Columbus' estimation of a travel distance of 2,400 miles (3,860 km) was, in fact, far too short.
In 1488 Colombo appealed to the court of Portugal once again, and once again John II invited him to an audience. It also proved unsuccessful, in part because not long afterwards Bartolomeu Dias returned to Portugal following a successful rounding of the southern tip of Africa. Now that it looked like Portugal could soon have the eastern sea route to Asia under its control.
Colombo went to France and apealed to the King of France, Charles VIII to sponsor his own voyage, Joanna convinced Charles VIII to grab the proposal of Columbus, so Columbus boarded the ships Jeanne, Lorraine and Marie which would go to the indies and trade with the Chinese again because the trade was blocked by the Ottomans[1].

Ottoman Naples or the defeat of Skanderberg
In 1453, after the siege of Constantinople, Mehmet who captured Constantinople decided that the first Rome was worthy to be conquered in his own hands and wanted to make it the capital of his own empire.
The war of Succession of Naples and the capture of Naples by Alfonso of Aragon and Rene I of Naples was expelled from Naples became an opportunity for Mehmet Because of the disputedness of Naples, in 1452, Mehmet decided to take Naples and Albania and attacked it and took the city of Durazzo in a battle that resulted in the Ottomans retaining those cities with the help of the Golden Horde and the Mamluks on whom he asked for help and John Hunyadi defended Belgrade but Belgrade fell as well to Mehmet and John Hunyadi escaped back to Hungary but vowed to defeat Mehmet and Mehmet sent emmisaries to France who said that Mehmet will help Louis XI and Rene of Lorraine take Naples and Louis XI of France and Rene I of Naples helped him against Skanderberg and the Trastamaras in the promise that the Angevins will regain the Neapolitan throne and the Ottomans attack Otranto with a force of 5000 turks and his own elite subordinates and the Angevin rebels with the French forces which amounted to 1000 Mehmet found the Kingdom of Naples and Albania being so easy to subdue because of French help and defeated and killed Skanderberg in 1454. Mehmet killed the Trastamaran Alfonso of Naples 1455 after the defeat of Skanderberg and because of that Southern Italy became an Ottoman territory and after that the Ottomans conquered Sicily subjugating the Christian peasants and the nobility of Sicily the people who tried to rebel against the Ottomans in Southern Italy and Sicily were sent as slaves in Albania. Malta was captured by the Ottomans as well and there was a minor hostility with France after the Ottomans finally conquered Naples. And because the Ottomans did not become true to their promise to France to give to the Angevins the throne of Naples, there is a minor hostility between France and Ottomans in 1460, but this minor hostility ended with French defeat.
Mathias Corvinus became afraid and anxious of the Ottomans as a result of this, Shortly after this Pope Pius II evacuated Rome and went to Avignon in 1460 fearing for his own life and because of this France started a new hostility but France was again defeated and declared Avignon as the center of Catholicism. Pope Pius II took refuge in Avignon in 1462, Mehmet invaded the Southern part of Lazio including Rome south of the River Tiber in 1465, the Southern part of Lazio went under the control of the Ottomans while the Northern part went under Urbino which is ruled by Federico Montefeltro.
Mehmet visited Rome in 1465 after it was captured and pillaged by the soldiers of Mehmet the expansion of the Ottoman Empire in the era of Mehmet has been very big and sudden and many lands were added in the Empire and he renamed his empire the Empire of Rum and declared himself the new Caesar, the war against the Ottomans and the expansion of the Ottomans was halted because of the Treaty of Milan in 1465 which was made by the Holy Roman Emperor Frederick III in order to end the wars and expansion of the Ottomans which gave the Kingdom of Naples, Albania and Sicily to the Ottomans, the French and the Aragonese were furious of the treaty and wanted to start a war but they cannot because it meant breaking truce and the Holy Roman Empire would intervene.
In this time the King of Poland, Casimir IV wanted a stronger buffer with the Ottomans because Ottoman Empire was very powerful and are very good in battles and they will have a hard time battling with them so the King of Poland and Lithuania, Casimir gave the fiefdom of Moldova to the King of Hungary, Mathias Corvinus and because of this the Wallachians are united under Hungary and because of that Hungary became a buffer between the West and Islam, Casimir decided that it is better for Hungary to be annexed to Poland-Lithuania under his son Wladislaw after the death of Mathias Corvinus if Mathias Corvinus does not have any heir to make a new strong state against the Ottomans.
In 1466, Mathias Corvinus sent John Hunyadi again to the Balkans to expel the Ottomans from the Balkans, this never succeeded because the armada and the land army of the Ottomans proved to be powerful and the Ottomans now have more power compared to Hungary.
at the death of Mathias Corvinus in 1490, Wladislaw became the King of the most of Eastern Europe because his father wants to make the Poland-Lithunian commonwealth stronger by incorporating Hungary in order to balance against the Ottomans, the first wife of the Wladislaw, Barbara was divorced by Wladislaw, he seeked a wife instead in Muscovy, he married Helena of Muskovy in 1495, the marriage of Helena and Wladislaw was rocky at first, in January 1497, Helena of Muskovy gave birth to a bouncing baby boy, Wladislaw, named after his father, Wladislaw tried to battle again against the ottomans in 1498, but the hostility ended in a truce between the Polish-Lithunian-Hungarian commonwealth and the Ottomans.

Stop, just stop. I'm tired defending you; you're on your own on this one.

Oh boy, I can't wait to see how this one goes.

He is confusing that one time he got kicked for a ban.

Thanks for defending me.

;)

I was thinking of an alternate treaty of Tordesillas between France and Portugal+Castile, I was thinking where is the best to have the treaty, I was thinking of Avignon because half of Rome is under the Ottomans.

What does that have to do with me telling you to just stop? Honestly, just pick a damn idea and go with it instead of changing PoD's like your change your boxers. How do you expect to finish something when you start a new one every week?

And so help me God if you quote my comment and respond with an irrelevant comment...

Yep, I will stick on this timeline before starting/continuing my other timeline here, I don't think my other timeline is ready to be published yet because of incomplete data and also because it has not coalescent yet and I have allot of data about Isabel of Castile, this timeline looks ready and safe to start so I will continue it because this TL just fills my mind now.

That actually sounds kind of awesome

I forgot to mention how the Alans launch a Reconquista against the Muslims and conquer Persia, making its population Christian. Somehow in the following centuries, Persia comes under the rule of the Bourbons with the help of the famous Englishman John of Gaunt, known by his enemies as the infamous pirate Jack Sparrow.

The fates of Mary of Burgundy and Ferdinand of Aragon
Mary now made her choice among the many suitors for her hand, selecting the Archduke Maximilian of Austria (after her death the Holy Roman Emperor Maximilian I). The marriage took place at Ghent on 18 August 1477. By marrying Archduke Maximilian of Austria, son of the Archduke of Austria, she became Archduchess Mary of Austria. In this way the Low Countries came to the Habsburgs.
The couple had three children: Philip the Handsome, 22 July 1478 and Margaret, 10 January 1480 Five years later, the 25-year-old Duchess decided to drop from her horse and not continue riding the horse because she felt something will happen to her if she continued to ride her horse.
Mary of Burgundy was a loved queen in Burgundy, Netherlands and the Austrian posessions, Mary of Burgundy allied with the Polish-Lithuanian-Hungarian commonwealth in 1490, in order to gain a powerful ally.
Ferran of Aragon was married to the daughter of Louis, the Universal Spider, Jeanne, in 1480 in order to ally with France and in order to gain back Rousillon, Jeanne gave birth to a daughter named Magdalena in August 5,1481,however Ferran of Aragon suddenly died in 1482, it was believed that he was poisoned by his rivals or the French King, Magdalena was married to Frances Febus of Foix in 1495, merging Foix, Navarre and Bearn with the Aragonese posessions[1].

1. I swapped the fate of Francis Phoebus and Ferdinand.

Okay, you've sold me.

Is the actual TL still up on here? Or did the mods take it down when he got kicked? Between schoolwork and sports, I really really need to read something entertaining right now.

I'm going to change the pace in this thread, because I think bashing kasumigenx is ridiculous. It's like it's become a national pastime of this forum. Someone sees someone bashing them, and then everyone else jumps in. Telling them to just stop, or "Oh, I can't wait to see how this one turns out!" is stupid. If you don't have anything constructive or nice to say, why are you even posting? To up your post count?

I'm going to try and be constructive here. You obviously have a lot of ideas, which is a good thing, but it's execution. Writing a TL is a lot of work. It can be fun and rewarding, but it involves doing some research. That doesn't just mean looking up Wikipedia articles. They're good for some cursory glances, but helps to get some actual books on the subjects you're writing about, or doing some reading online, whatever. Now, some critiques.

a) Why does Isabella marry Charles of Viana? IOTL that's what he wanted to do, and then his father promptly threw him into prison where he died. Henry IV probably would've never allowed the marriage anyways.
b) Henry IV totally throws his daughter under the bus. Why? He supported her regardless IOTL, I'm pretty sure he'd do so here. There's a reason Isabella found a likely husband in Ferdinand of Aragon. Because they were willing to help her, especially considering Joanna la Beltraneja was married to the King of Portugal. Here... what he's doing makes no sense. He has a daughter, who he believes is his. Why would he just decide to make his sister his heiress instead?
c) The marriage of Isabella to Joao II could work. That is plausible. But you need to fix a) and b) before c) works.
d) I know you have a penchant for La Beltraneja to marry the French Dauphin. But it's not going to work. For one, she would not flee. This situation wouldn't happen, because Henry IV would recognize her as his heir, not Isabella. Secondly, she was a laughingstock in European courts. Henry IV wasn't called Henry the Impotent for no reason at all. No one believed La Beltraneja was his. Her marriage to Alfonso V was pure opportunism on his part. Louis XI wouldn't marry his son to her, as he has to deal with the fallout of Charles' the Bold's death and the possible match between the Dauphin and one of Mary of Burgundy's children is a much more attractive match.
e) It's cool that you want to incorporate ideas like a more powerful Ottomans... but if you want to do that, actually incorporate them. Don't just say, "I want so and so to be true in this TL, so it is." The Ottomans holding Naples IMO is pretty unlikely, so I'm not gonna touch that with a 10 foot pole. Not really my area of expertise anyways.
f) Mehmet isn't going to conquer Naples and Albania in 1452. You're kinda forgetting about Constantinople. He's gearing up for that invasion. Skanderbeg was a highly capable general and leader and he maintained Albania's independence for so long because he was so capable. Not saying he can't be defeated, but 1452 is an awful time for Mehmet to be invading the Italian peninsula of all places.
g) Why would Louis XI sign onto an alliance with the Ottomans? This isn't the 16th century. He doesn't need them to quash the Spanish for him. Sure, René is the Duke of Anjou and a Valois, but house loyalties only go so far. Louis XI didn't really help him IOTL, so why here? René isn't going to be desperate enough to ally with the Turks to regain Naples. His subjects would really love him when he enters Naples at the head of a Turkish Army. And once the Turks leave? The Neopolitans toss him out and invite back the Aragonese even faster than before. Considering the Turks screw them over, it seems like a dumb idea from the start. "We'll invade Naples and give it back to you, okay?" Yeah, no one is going to fall for that.
h) You put a lot of small details in without explaining them. Wallachia is suddenly Hungarian. Why is it Hungarian? If something changes from OTL, you have to explain it, or people have no idea what's going on. Detail, detail, detail. That is the only way a TL can be good, if it has details. I would prefer to read a really long, 3,000 word update that is detailed than read a small 500 word update that barely covers anything.
i) Why does Wladyslaw's father want to make a Commonwealth? Again, detail. Explain these people's motivations and ambitions. Why do they want this, why are they doing that? Detail, detail, detail.
j) The Hungarians are not going to consent to join an uber Commonwealth with Poland and Lithuania. The magnates would depose Wladyslaw and elect a new king. Poland and Lithuania are still not even united into a single country yet. Sure, there could maybe be a personal union between the three countries... but not a Commonwealth. Adding Hungary doesn't make Poland stronger. It weakens it, honestly. Bigger does not mean better.
k) Mary surviving is not a bad butterfly. But you could simply have her not go riding. Not her deciding to get off the horse because she thinks "something is gonna happen." Ferdinand and someone marrying... him dying, okay. Who succeeds him in Aragon? What's even happening in Aragon? You totally ignored it in the first update. How did they respond to the Castile-Portugal union? Detail, detail, detail.

I know people give you a hard time around here. I know they get frustrated sometimes. I know they make fun of your ideas. I'm trying to be constructive and help you. I know English isn't your first language, and you're not bad at typing it aside from syntax. I'm not going to be a dick like everyone else and tell you to stop writing: because honestly, you've gotta write to get better. Everyone sucks at first. But you've gotta listen to the constructive advice people give. You've gotta do more than skin deep research. Writing a TL can be fun. But it's not easy. It takes a little work. Not everyone can do it. How many people in this thread have ever written a TL?

Instead of posting your TLs here, for right now, just write them. Do research, write them, focus on adding details. Always details. Just write them, read them yourself. Ask yourself questions about them, if they make sense. Question the motives of the people. I know you get a lot of ideas, or you get bored of them. This will be much better for you. You can write, you can learn, and you can get better. When people post TLs here... it's something they wanna continue upon. It's not something they post, update twice, then get bored of.

Write. Research. Ask questions around here. Ultimately you've got to write to get better; just remember, everyone's been where you are now (and some people... they've been even worse). You've got to start somewhere. But if you practice, you might be able to make an amazing story.

But most of all, remember. Details, details, details. Always details. Lots of details. That makes a good TL an amazing one. :)
