How could the following be possible and what does it mean for the 20th century:
North German Federation circa 1866 OTL including Luxembourg

South German Federation (Habsburg empire) including Alsace-Lorraine, Baden, Württemberg, Bavaria, Austria (including South Tyrol, Slovenia, and Burgenland with Pressburg-Sopron), and the Czech Republic.

Hungary (including everything in the Hungarian half of the Dual Monarchy with Bosnia-Herzogovina).

Poland (including everything in Congress Poland and Austrian Galicia)

What would the economic development of these countries look like by the 20th century and what would their relations be?

Look here to get a basic idea of what I mean:

I think including Bosnia-Herzogovinia in Hungary (permanently, at least) is a bit of a stretch-- IOTL, Austro-Hungarian occupation and annexation of the region simply reinforced nationalist sentiment, and ITTL that could be much worse, depending on the POD.

If Hungary gains independence via nationalist revolt ITTL, 'native' (for lack of a better term coming to mind) nationalist sentiment in Hungary's Balkan territories will be much greater. Hungarian nationalists would've probably based their rhetoric on "Hungarian for the Hungarians" or some such, right? If so, then Croatians, Bosniaks, and people who are definitely not Hungarians but within the new Hungarian realm are probably going to throw a fit and try to break away.

The Croatian part happened in our timeline anways, during the 1848 Hungarian Revolution. Hungarian nationalist rhetoric drove many Croats away from their cause and caused Croatian nationalist sentiment to grow a bit.

Is this what you mean?

Damn, not bad at all. Did you just make that?
The only thing I'd take issue with is Ottoman control of the Balkan states, but over all excellent. Thanks for the contribution!

I wonder if there would be two German official languages here and if the Czechs are Germanized. Also the two German states might be bitter enemies and Hungary might be the patron of the smaller Balkan states against the Ottomans. Poland is probably a client state of the Germans, which explains their independence from the Russians.
