Different 1914 Great Yarmouth raid

The submarine HMS D5 was responding to the raid on Great Yarmouth November 1914 by Moltke, Von der Tann, Seydlitz, Blucher and 4 cruisers when it was sunk by mines laid by the Stralsund.

What if D5 had successfully attacked one of the Battlecruisers and left her dead in the water and an easy target for the RN, would this change future raids?

Without a doubt, the risk of loosing a precious resorce like a BC would definately make the Germans think twice.

The Kaiser would hit the roof.

With Heligoland Bight fresh in the memory and the soon to be destroyed Von Spee it is unlikely any major units of the Hig Seas Fleet will come out for a long time. Dogger Bank would probably be butterflied which means some of the safety features introduced after the scare with the Seydlitz won't happen.

If Jutland still takes place it would interesting to see what would happen to some of the German battlecruisers.

I suspect they would still come out, after all, they did after Dogger Bank and again after Jutland.

What change in tactics could they use to minimise the risk from subs?
