intresthing fact because for the GDR authorities
is gona look like a west german had killt Ulbricht !

how will the GDR react ?
how gona be the successor of Walter Ulbricht ?
will the Ministry for State Security assassinate Konrad Adenauer ?
or happen a Uprising in East Germany after Ulbrichts dead ?

They'd demand that the west German police will find the killer and send him to East Germany, probably. Difficult situation for Adenauer.

His successor - difficult. Honecker? Pieck? Grotewohl? In 1958, Ulbricht definitely was the strong man in E. Germany. There may be some fighting behind the scenes. I don't know who else was "second guard" in 1958.

An uprising? The people will be happy that Ulbricht is dead. They'd probably consider anyone an improvement.

under the Constitution of the GDR
Wilhelm Pieck 1876-1960
First and only president of the German Democratic Republic.

another is Otto Grotewohl 1894-1964 head of the KPD in the year 1958
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Otto_Grotewohl

Erich Honecker
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erich_Honecker
had just become a full member of the Politbüro.
during that time he will be, the Central Committee secretary for security matters
working on top secret program that 1961 became the Berlin Wall.
so he is not available to replace Ulbricht
