By the way, when does this TL's civil rights era happen?
For the US? It’d really depend on how the socialists do- they’d probably be the only ones getting it done, but they also wouldn’t want to lose their base, who might just be the white working-class. In Germany we could go full allegory and have a similar era for German Jews

Well, we could have a United Baltic Duchy, or there's also Baltoslavia

I very much like the Baltoslavia idea by @Augenis ! We can talk about the name of course, but why do you not think it is a good idea (if Balts and Slavs are granted their respective cultural and linguistic rights)?

Or maybe Belarusians could start to consider themselves Balts...

What about a Baltic referendum?
I doubt Baltoslavia would be very likely, since Germany wasn’t exactly known for giving locals what they wanted, and even then I doubt that the Balts would want a united state- I don’t know if pan-Baltic identity even existed. (Turanism was more popular in Finland, Turkic countries, Japan, and Hungary). But since you guys seem to like it we will hold a poll.

A realistic compromise would be a United Baltic Duchy, excluding Belarus

I think I'll wait for what @Augenis says and then start a poll most likely. Except if @Augenis clearly outlines why a certain possibility is implausible...

Since this is a 1918 CP victory scenario, Germany is too exhausted to be able to impose anything they want on an unruly Eastern populace. Their priority would be to make sufficient buffer states in the East, and a Litbel would be a stronger buffer than Lithuania or Belarus respectively.

Actually, my ideas for the points of divergence were-
  • German victory on the Marne leading to an easier victory in France and thus less trouble on the western front and more supplies, thus turnip winter is less harsh
  • Successful Niedermayer Hentig expedition leads to an easier victory in India
  • Germany does not continue unrestricted submarine warfare.
  • The US remains on Carranza’s side in Mexico, thus no Zimmermann telegram

I thought of a 1917 CP victory here, but what you say also applies in this scenario. @Hindustani Person , would you then agree to creating Litbel (and Baltoslavia after World War II)? .

Also, @Augenis , what would be a "better" name for Baltoslavia?

I am fine with LitBel, but I think that the humongous Baltoslavia is unlikely. I doubt that Germany would want any one vassal gobbling up that much territory, and I think that if it was put into place, it would collapse like Yugoslavia
