What areas should I add or remove from Idel-Ural to have it less blatatly post-Soviet?

Also thanks for the input, @Ella.is.crazy , but I like my Central Asia very much. I might take some borders or areas, but especially the names of nations, from your proposal, as I like those.
Alright- but the Kazakh border in yours isn't very realistic IMO.

Perhaps we could have Montana be a recently formed state? Perhaps it was The Hochannistan Republic ( Originally being Hoh'hʺæuuonston, but the English word is much simpler) and having it be an Ossetian-dominated "republic", until radicals took over and reformed the government into The Allonston-Heuonston Republic, more commonly called Montana?

Or we could be boring and have the old government be called Alania or Ossetia or the Mountain republic

I have made some progress - and done my best in Central Asia, especially regarding Alash Orda and Qoqand. What do you think of it?

I was thinking of a different Australia. I agree with the socialist east and libertarian west but with some more stuff. Maybe a authoritarian socialist government (not communism, as in it still has some forms of capitalism, think modern China) in the east based in Melbourne and a libertarian government in the west centered in Perth. This could arise from a civil war in the late 30s after a socialist party democratically takes control of the government and the west secedes.
Perhaps the war could be from 1938 to 1941. An aboriginal autonomous territory owned by the libertarian west could exist in northern South Australia / southern Northern Territory. Victoria, most of New South Wales and southern Queensland would be "East Australia" while Western Australia, South Australia, north and parts of west Queensland and parts of north-west NSW could be "The Libertarian Republic of Australia", known as Free Australia to non-socialist countries and West Australia to socialist countries.
Adelaide could be split into west and east, with each side being highly militarized. Central Queensland (a region of Australia known for being far-right, the American South of Australia) could be home to many failed rebellions and constant battling on the streets, leaving it as a special area directly controlled by the East Australian government and ruled with an iron fist.
Free/West Australia is a key ally of the USA, which it is mainly based on.

I will post a map of my idea soon.

The socialist government took control of the army, but the libertarians control the navy and air force, being able to take the Coral Sea Islands and Norfolk Island. The socialist government is very strong and its people (apart from central Queensland) are very loyal. However the libertarians are obsessed with creating a greater Australia and taking control of pacific islands and New Guinea. The socialist government has multiple times the pop of the libertarian so West Australia tries to increase its population.

I don't want to give too much away, but I will tell you that the Abkhazia conflict stems from the second world war, and the "Great Abkhaz Betrayal"

That's an interesting take. What about a independent Aboriginal state as a buffer zone?

I don't think that would be a good idea. The autonomous aboriginal state in central Australia is sort of a buffer state, but it is right next to the extremely militarized Central Queensland Controlled Area (CQCA). The socialists want to convince the aboriginals by showing them how equal people are in their country but the aboriginals are happy to just be let be, which they can do in their autonomous territory.

Why do you think your border would be more plausible, @YaaItsRewindTime ?

Also, if Red Australia is supported by anarcho-communist/libertarian socialist Japan - as we are envisioning - why should the government be authoritarian?

The idea of a civil war and of the aboriginals being involved as proxies etc., they are good.
