There seems always to be a debate as to whether or not the Entente needed American aid to emerge victorious (or at least undefeated) from World War I.
Not to point fingers, but Europeans (mainly Britons) often say that US aid was incidental to victory, whereas many Americans express the view that, were it not for them, the Kaiser would have been summering at Versailles. Canadians usually skirt the whole thing and only really ever talk about their own noble actions at Vimy Ridge.
Since I can't find a thread devoted to this debate, I decided to cook up one of my own. So here we are, ladies and gentlemen; the thread to end this argument once and for all:
"Was United States intervention in World War I necessary for an Entente victory?"
