Did Hitler ever come close to developing an A-bomb?

... and your point is what, exactly?

Oh, I remember, you specialise in complete and utter non-sequiturs. Usually references to things you've read in a novel, for some reason.
The anthrax bomb could have been twice as deadly, and twice as dangerous,
as the nuclear bomb. Use the Search function for "Anthrax bomb." Open your mind.

I know the UK was working on anthrax. It has nothing to do with the thread, that's my point. Just like most of the stuff you post.
Ah, such a good day to hear Blair's great words of unquestionable wisdom.
It is. It really, really is.

Snide remarks aside, Blair is correct regarding an Anthrax bomb.

Some of the problems with Anthrax Bomb (because there are a lot), are:

Biological weapons had already been banned under international law. This didn’t stop the British Empire testing on it extensively.

It is indiscriminate, hitting enemy combatants and any civilians in the area, and your own troops when they advance into the area.

And the worse problem; It is PERMANENT!

The spores last basically forever. There is an island off Scotland that is still uninhabitable because of the tests, and likewise Anthrax keeps popping up in Queensland every few years.

Is this pertinent to the thread?
No, but it doesn’t hurt to be polite.

Yes.

No, it doesn't hurt. Neither would it hurt the guy to stick to the subject, or actually research things. But that's not going to happen.

Well how about a few pointers in the right direction with regard to good books or web links on the subject and let’s leave it at that.
:)
Well the thing is, I don't personally know what would be good to read / good links on the topic of "Hitler's A-bomb", because it's not something I'm interested in. I like to think I'm open minded, and from what I have heard, or works others have referred to here, there just doesn't seem to be the evidence for it, except from the conspiracy fringe, or from sensationalist tabloid-style TV shows.

I just expect others, when they go off on one about some subject, to have done a little reading around themselves, and not just to base it on one book or TV show.

OK, maybe not all the time - you can start a thread by saying "Hey, I just watched [X] TV show - what if this had happened?" - it's just when someone refuses to really engage, and just keeps quoting / referring to the same book or show as the answer to everyone's objections.

... maybe this is because I did a history degree.

The above statement was directed broadly and not to anyone in particular.

I doubt there are any outside the “UFOs and psychic Phenomena” section of the bookshelf but something good on Germany’s general war effort or the Manhattan Project should do.

Again, directed broadly here for those looking for something to read tonight.
