Did anyone want to execute Napoleon I?

He tried to poison himself after his defeat in Paris in 1814, meaning no Waterloo and butterflies in the Congress of Vienna....

Wasn't Blucher on record as saying that if Napoleon fell into his hands he would immediately have him shot?

Even if he said that, I doubt he would have done so. It's one thing to execute riff-raff ennemy soldiers and rape civilians but killing the head of state of a country in cold blood is just not proper civilised behaviour......

But during the Waterloo Campaign, the Congress of Vienna had declared Napoleon an outlaw, so he would not have had such legal protections.

Still I doubt he would be reprimanded, Prussia as well as most of Europe would likely welcome Napoleons death.
