This is an alternate history series documenting the creation and the conflicts surrounding The former colonies of a much more powerful, rich and democratic Spanish Empire. How these more stable and established States came to build their national mythos, and build a new civilization.
It will be written in the perspective of a history book or report in the future, but it will also include possibly actual stories from across this history. I hope that this is very interesting to you, the reader, and gives new perspective on how the smallest changes can create such massive alterations in the story of humanity. Thank you all for reading!
Prologue
"The God of life, prosperity, and civilization, Amberose, created the world and the stars, and the four Grand Potentates of Earth. The Ocean, the Mountain, The Woodland, and The Desert, governed over the Earth, and assisted in curating the life created by the God Amberose to dwell on it. Among the many creatures, humanity was created as the highest earthly species, meant to be in permeant relations with the Grand Potentates. Its role was to be the defenders of life from horrors that might exist from beyond the ends of the Earth, not just commanded, but to one day become equal to the Potentates, not in power, but status.
"For 11 thousand years, This balance dominated the Earth and stars, but it was not to last forever. The God of death, Destruction, and Barbarism, Helias, saught to bring the realm of the God Amberose into his own control. Helias sent his forces of draught, disease, fire, and disaster into the Earth, in order to brake the relationship between the Grand potentates and Humanity. The God Amberose became furious when she learned of this unprovoked attack at her realm, and she gathered her forces of health, wisdom, stability and water to defeat the forces brought by the God Helias. The forces of good eventually prevailed, and Helias was pushed back into the cosmos. But the forces he had inflicted into Earth remained, even with his absence. The Earth became more chaotic, dangerous and violent, and most importantly, the relation between Humanity and the Gran Potentates was broken, and could not be restored.
"The world therefore was was left divided, in every way, between the forces of good and evil, and under duel influence of the two Gods. Humanity was left to wander a silent world."
This is the Myth laid out by the Mas Cercano, a group of around 1.5 million people that lived at the edge of the Andes mountains, almost all made up of European immigrants, in the borderlands between States. This group found massive persecution and hate by natives and Immigrants from Europe alike for centuries. Although no large group outside of the Mas Cercano believe this story, it represents a very interesting idea that can be found in almost all States descending from the Spanish Empire. An idea which only makes itself clear at the end of this story.
"In the blessed New World, all the nations of the world will converge in battle, in the final act of the greatest conflict in all history, and the final act of all human history, the two Gods will launch their final attack on one another. The God Amberose and Helias will send all their forces and power to try and bring the Earth and stars under their control. All those who accept the truth of humanity's history and the creation of the Earth and stars will be evacuated from the Earth by The God Amberose, and will remain safe from the fight. The blessed lands of the World, the New World, will be destroyed completely, along with the whole rest of the world, but it will be recreated, built anew by the God Amberose, for all redeemed humanity to live for eternity. The lands will be peaceful and united, and to this truth we say we believe."
The Mas Cercano has often been called the embodiment of the most extreme brands of Spanish Latin America supremacy, or Latin America nationalists. They bring out a truth in most all States of Latin America however, and that is belief in themselves. That these States are the culmination of history, and they are the mixing and union of all peoples, and they are determined to bring each other into some sort of union, creating the greatest superpower the world will ever know. It is truly fascinating. It is of course necessary to mention that not all people in the Latin New world believed this. Only a small portion. But how dangerous it would become in the time where those who did believe this doctrine came to power in these States, in the greatest conflict the hemisphere would ever know.
This is the story of the States and nations of the New World. How they were colonized, became free, and saw their coming of age as peoples. This is the story of the greatest experiment of nation-building and civilization-creating in all of history. This is the story of the Descendants of the Boats, and the greatest powers of the New World and the Old.
