Deposing Stalin late June 1941?

I'm currently watching a documentary about Stalin and in it there is a fair bit of criticism in one part of Stalin's inner circle for not deposing him when he panicked after the Battle of Minsk and retreated to his Dacha, apparently expecting to be purged; instead his team coaxed him out to take command of the war effort. What if though they weren't as cowed and thought they could do better and purged him, taking over as a council to run the war? Would the military get behind them after Stalin was removed for his failures? Could a team work together or would there be a power struggle and purges once Stalin was out of the way? If they could hold things together, would Stalin's staff (guys like Beria and Molotov) have been more effective leaders than Stalin?

Seeing as how Uncle Joe had spent the previous decade playing Divide, Purge, and Rule, what would it rake for any one of them to think purging even a depressed and panicked Stalin would not be able to fight back?

My favorite scenario in this case would be that one of them (pick one) gets convinced Stalin is going to blame him for themes, and takes along a Tokarev. Faced with a fat accomplice, the others pull themselves together and hie back to Moscow to establish control.

I think they would blame the assassination on a "pro-Nazi traitor" and pick some poor schmuck to take the blame and shoot.

I too never understood why somebody (maybe Zhukov?) didn't take out Stalin during this time period. What were Molotov and Beria doing during this time?

In 41?

At that point, busy trying to figure out what the actual fuck the situation was on the front.

Once it was a lot more secure, I think, you'd find Stalin would've had an "accident".

No one was powerful enough to fill the vacuum. Maybe Beria, but he was hated by literally everyone. This is a good way to help the Nazis get to the Urals...
