Denmark-Norway under the Lorraines

Valdemar II

In OTL the overthrown Christian II of Denmark daugther Christina married Duke Francis I of Lorraine. Christina never gave up her claim to Denmark. So what if for some reason the Danish nobles get so tired with Christian III or Frederik II, that they decide another attempt with changing kings. I expect that they are going to demand that the Lorraines convert. While converting are a big step I think even for the Dukes of Lorraine, Copenhagen are worth it.

So we have a situation where Lorraine end up in personal union with Denmark-Norway, and a Lutheran Lorraine, in fact the second part are likely top have greater effect than the first part.

If Christina succeed in overthrowing her cousins, I also expect her to throw them out of Schleswig-Holstein, while her claim here are weaker, Frederik I had thrown her father out of the duchies, even through he had a strong claim.

Well, firstly, I think that extremely unlikely, as probably if the nobles get tired of Christian III or Frederik II they would probably replace them by a closer Danish relative (as was the case with Christian II and Frederick I). Also, while the Lorraines could convert, I have doubts if the Danish would bet on that.

However, I think that a better solution would be to make Christian II succeed at an attempt to retake his throne. Of course, it could have huge butterflies, and we should assume that one of his daughters still marry the duke of Lorraine (which happened IOTL only because her first husband died).
