No, it's not brilliant. There's a whole forum on this site for role playing, and I'm sure you can find thousands more elsewhere on the web. But this forum, which is reserved for discussion of Alternate History, is not the place for it. Threads like these are neither conducive to interesting discussions nor interesting in and of themselves. Neither the falsely named DBWIs or the wretched VFAUs held any merit, nor did any of them continue for more than one page on average. A role playing activity could potentially be enjoyable in the context of alternate history if it lasted long enough, the participants were mature and serious, and the whole affair was managed properly. The problem? None of those requirements ever seriously occurs in threads like these, nor are likely to occur for a huge number of reasons.

Can you explain to me -- again -- why the DBWIs that are often posted, are not actually DBWIs? Is it because they don't postulate the WI as being what occurred in our TL?
