Well, I think the idea is to basically copy the Swiss form of government. Which is pretty neat, in fact - a cross between parliamentary democracy and the American system but with a collective leadership that also happens to be the Cabinet at the same time.
3. I like Switzerland, but I don't really want Deseret to be an American Swizterland. Staying too small and without a border with the ocean makes Deseret a lot more desirable as an easy target of annexation. And a port would improve Deseret's finances considerably. Plus living here in Utah without much water (besides the Great Salt Lake and various mountain "rivers") is driving me stir-crazy. I'd like the poor Deseretians to avoid that fate.![]()
