Deaths of leaders in WW2

Hitler dies, chances are the German generals are going to convince Goering on a more reasonable Russian strategy.
It wouldn't be difficult, Goring never wanted war in the first place, he thought that Germany should have banked her winnings in 1938, when most German's were quite happy with what the Nazis had achieved by mere threats.

Look, I know that most of the time, insisting on "Britain" and not "England" is basically quixotic quibbling, but the fact that he landed in Scotland is a pretty well-known part of the bizarre story.

Holy mother.

Perhaps you shouldn´t spend time on the Internet if this upsets you. Holland vs. the Netherlands. Russia instead of the Soviet Union. America rather than the United States of America.

So much to get upset over.......

As I say, I accept people referring to England as Britain. Saying hess landed in England, however, strikes me as similar to saying that Kiev is the capital of Russia. It's factually wrong in a way that isn't at all political, offensive, or even just lazy, but... curious.

I think if Stalin had died it would have been rather extensively covered up by his government with the wider world only finding out about it after the end of the war.

Whoever took over from him would undoubtedly do a better job of it.

If Hitler died whilst Germany were still winning the war, I can see Goering using it as an excuse to consolidate Germany's territorial gains and make peace with the Western allies. There may be a separate conflict with the USSR later in the decade however.
