For those of you who haven't heard of the film, it postulates the assassination of George W. Bush in the October of 2007.
The film heavily implies that it was not the ex-Al Qaeda computer systems fellow who assassinated the president, but who was convicted of the crime and is on Death Row at the end of the film, but instead a disgruntled Army officer who was upset at the death of one of his sons in Iraq. Yet it is also implied that the vast majority of Americans believe that it was the Muslim who shot the president. Under these circumstances, I'd like the course of the WI to be prescribed by the idea that 90% of Americans assume that Zakri was Bush's assassin.
What effects would this have had on the 2008 election, and history (brief as it has been) since then? Please keep discussion reasoned and as non-partisan as possible.
