Do you think you could add a colour for a union between Australia and New Zealand?
Before I get to Melanesia (Papua will be horrendous), here's a topography and bathymetry patch. Now featuring shades for land below sea level, mountains up to 30km high, and oceans up to 30km deep, just in case.
I think this is the first color scheme I've seen that went this in-depth with below-sea-level topo.
It's useful if you want to, say, drain the entirety of the Mediterranean.
Or depict geography of some of the Planetocopia worlds, e.g. for the oceans of Lyr...
Here's climate and biomes. I'm in need of ideas for fictional biomes to extend the list (for fantasy maps).
Some rather spontaneous ideas:
- Non-water ice (dry ice, methane ice etc.)
- Non-water "ocean"
- Silicon-based biome(s)
- maybe something subterranean?
- Ultra-rainforest/Stormforest(?)
- hot biomes (like on Capsica)
- ultra-hot desert
- hot savannah
- hot forest biome/Xanophyll forest
Here's Melanesia, although I'm not sure what should be included in Melanesia: New Zealand is closer to Melanesia than Polynesia, while Fiji is closer to Tonga than Vanuatu and New Caledonia, so I personally think that New Zealand should be part of Melanesia and Fiji part of Polynesia, rather than the other way round that is usually used.
Melanesia and Polynesia are ethnocultural groupings first and foremost, that's why they're like that.

Here's Micronesia.
The WIP in the OP gets updated every so often. I'll post the next WIP after I finish Polynesia.
Finally finished Polynesia (I haven't had much motivation to work on this lately), and this finishes Oceania. (Also, I moved Fiji to Polynesia). Next up is Africa. A full WIP will also be uploaded soon.
Here's the Maghreb, including Macaronesia. If you'd like me to keep working on this, any encouragement would be greatly appreciated.
Or what sort of encouragement would be best? I still love this colour scheme as it does expand on DCS, and I would like to use it when it is finished!
Also, one of the South Sudan colours should probably refer to a Christian theocracy in Africa...
