it can be over powered, but i don't think it can be broken in half like your suggestIf it couldn't be broken then Doomsday could have never "killed" him, given that the "Telekinetic field" was still part of his arsenal at the time of that story line.
....on the topic of Multiple Batmen, I don't think Kord is likely to try and don the cowl.
It's most likely Grayson, Valley, New Character who gets some backstory tie-in ala Steel, and either someone backed by....Hugo Strange, or perhaps a former adversary trying to take advantage of the situation.
Maybe even a new Batwoman/girl, pretending to be a man
