DBWI: Wolfe died at the battle of Quebec?

I recently read that the famous General Wolfe was almost felled in his prime by a French sniper at the end of the Battle of Quebec. Considering his legendary status in British society, and his astonishing war record after 1759, against many ill-thought out rebellions, and insidious invasions of the Empire, his death would have been a colossal loss to Britain, and to the Empire.

Britain would still win the war in America without General Wolfe - though at any rate it would take them longer to effectively control New France. The outcome would ultimately come from what happens in Europe - if Britain's ally Prussia isn't overwhelmed or gets a lucky break then Britain stands a chance of enforcing a Pax Britannica more dominant than OTL.

This could mean, paradoxically, that the American colonies might revolt.

That'd be tough though--Frederick "the Foolhardy" kicked too many sleeping dragons to come out okay. (Seriously--taking on Austria, Russia, AND France, with a state roughly the size of postage stamp is... not a good way to handle it.)

Maybe a good second POD for this scenario is Empress Elizabeth dying earlier - that way Britain not only secures its overseas empire, it also manages to keep Prussia going enough for its alliance to also win Europe?
