DBWI: Wilson lives past 1919?

Hi all,

This has been discussed a good few times on here, but as it's an interesting topic (and hasn't been discussed for a few weeks); I thought I'd give it another werl.

As we all know, president Woodrow Wilson died of a stroke in September 1919, leaving Thomas Marshall as president.

Since a lot of 'Wilson Survives' discussions seem to focus on him surviving a minor stroke and carrying on the remainder of his term fully recovered, let's say his stroke is still pretty severe, but it doesn't kill him. His health was fragile at the best of times, so it's pretty realistic to suppose this as the most likely outcome. So, Wilson is paralysed, but mentally able to make the decisions necessary to carry on as president-in theory at least.

So what happens? Does Marshall take over anyway, because of Wilson's ill health? I get the impression he wasn't keen at all in becoming president, but obviously OTL events forced his hand on the matter. If he doesn't, what happens in the last 18 months of a Wilson administration? Does the US join the LoN? I've heard it said that Wilson's death was a prime factor in that being approved by congress, but might that happen regardless?

Do the Palmer Raids still take place if Wilson lives? If they do, does he still "resign" from the cabinet afterwards?

Finally, what happens in 1920? Wilson probably doesn't even bother with seeking a third term if he's seriously ill, so I guess that Mccadoo still ends up the nominee.
What about the GOP? Do the butterflies mean they nominate someone other than Hoover in 1920? He was a Dark Horse in OTL, after all.
