U2 basically came to a stand-off when recording the follow-up to Rattle & Hum, and ultimately couldn't bridge the gap between Bono & The Edge wanting a dance music-meets-industrial direction, and Larry & Adam wanting a classic rock sound.

Do you think they could've stayed together, and more importantly had some success? Would the music scene of the 1990s have changed if they'd stayed together?

The bootlegged rehearsal tapes I've heard from 1990 are not exactly inspiring...
