DBWI: WI The Federal Republic Of Central America Collasped?

I was reading recently about the political instability the Federal Republic Of Central America suffered in the 1830s and 40s. In the end though, the union prevailed. What would have happened if the republic tore itself asunder like Gran Columbia?

Unlike the relative prosperity the nation enjoys today, if the republic fell apart into its six member states, I could see another country forcing them into their political sphere. Mexico or Brazil maybe? Mexico might even try to annex a few of them, as it had controlled them at one point in the 1820s.

And that is a relatively merciful scenario. If worse comes to worse, Mr. Walker may just try what he attempted on the Caribbean and conquer the land in the name of the slavocrats.

With Mexico, Brazil and the US being as imperialistic as they were then, a divided Central America means that the region would become a test playground to new guns and a chessboard for the continent largest nations. The San Salvador's Government is aware of this and that's the reason why the republic's motto became "La Unión hace la Fuerza" after the American invasion of 1878

Probably no Antillean Federation. Many of the intellectuals who spearheaded that union looked to Central America as a guide. Instead we'd probably have Cuba, Puerto Rico and Quisqueya being 3 independent states.

Depending on how many states it splits into, it might make a "North American Football Federation" viable. IOTL, since North America itself has like four independent countries and those four didn't want to partner with the Caribbean, they ended up joining with the South Americans instead to form the Confederation of American Football Associations.

On the other hand, if the USA or Mexico were forced to play just with small Caribbean and Central American countries all the time, their players might not get as good as they did IOTL playing against the likes of Brazil, Argentina, and Colombia all the time. The legendary 2006 USA-Mexico World Cup Semifinals might be butterflied away.
