DBWI: WI RFK went to SA in 1966?

As we know, Verwoerd denied him a visa and gave Ian Robertson a lifetime ban. WI a deal had been worked out?

*OOC: IOTL, Verwoerd ordered Vorster (AG/DPM) to screw with his visa, and gave clear signals that he and Bobby would not meet for coffee as early as Oct. 1965. I can only imagine his reaction to RFK's question: "What if God is black?"

Alternatively, WI Verwoerd decided to bite the bullet and meet him? That would be *interesting* to say the least. Here's some clips from OTL.

Deputy Minister for Resettlement: "That little snip thinks he can come here and tell us what to do... Soon he'll invite Nkrumah to chair NUSAS..."

NP newspaper: "We offer our sincerest condolences to the American people if Senator Kennedy becomes President."

Rand Daily Mail (opposition, English): "Senator Robert Kennedy's visit is the best thing that has happened to South Africa in years."

Interestingly, RFK used the Nixon-China logic: "They might not be Mother Teresa, but we should foster dialogue and build contacts."
