DBWI: WI Martin Luther King did NOT survive his assassination attempt?

On March 29, 1968 in Memphis, Tennessee Martin Luther King Jr. was shot. As we know, he survived the attempt on his life and was later elected President in 1976. But WI President King had NOT survived. WI he had died that day in Memphis Tennessee?

((NOTE: First attempt at a DBWI, so go easy on me.))

Well we would never would have had that rigged election. Everyone knows MLK fudged the numbers in his victory. Maybe the nation would be better off without all the strife and distrust that now prevails?

Does everyone mean right-wing loons like yourself? President King is a visionary that has led this country forward in so many ways.

i have to say, MLK won by a Landslide in 1976 'gainst carter. His VP Reagan secured it all.

It was quite the balancing act for King, Social justice and Aggresive polcy against Russia. At the very least, he revived the space programme to show the USSR what America was truly capable of. He ensured a long era of GOP Domination of the white house, something the Dems and the libs shudder at.

OOC: Oy. MLK was not a Republican. Not since 1964. The only reason he had been was that he inherited that from his father and that was because of the Liberal faction and that was the faction they supported in the face of the Conservative Southern Democrats. MLK left that party in 1964 precisely because of the Conservatives and Goldwater and them gaining power. As Reagan was a Conservative and a Goldwaterite, MLK would have loathed him. Likewise, MLK would have run on the Democratic ticket (especially since all the Dixiecrats joined into the GOP) if at all.
