DBWI: WI Beauty and the Beast hadn't won the Oscar for Best Picture in 1991?

(OOC: This is based on my timeline seen here:

We all know that after the win of Beauty and the Beast Disney pushed their animation department into new heights with films like Dragon Lake and Hunchback of Notredame. But what if the film had failed to win at the Oscars? Would we have remained in the animation ghetto, or would we have still had the same trajectory?

If Beauty had been nominated for, but failed to win, an oscar, that could have definitely changed Disney executive decisions in the next couple of years -- as they get tempted to make "oscar bait" and get a full win under their belt -- likely meaning we get different films in the mid-90's. "Oscars Fever" some call it, and it's effected studios before.

I guess, but I wonder if it would have also lead to less 'heavy' films? Maybe if Aladdin had been a bigger success? Idk, but it's food for thought.

I'm pretty sure we'd lose some of Disney Animation Studios' more serious, adult-oriented films like George Orwell's Animal Farm (2008), nominated for Best Picture and winner for Best Adapted Screenplay, and We Can Remember It for You Wholesale (2010), nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay. Also, the Oscar categories for Best Voice Actor and Actress in an Animated Feature probably wouldn't exist.

OOC: This DBWI is based on my timeline on the subject. But If you make those after 2006 It would work :)

OOC: Oh, sorry, it seems that you posted the wrong link in the original post, it takes me to a timeline about Anne Boleyn. I'll edit my post and change the dates so it makes sense with your timeline.
